Panamá la Vieja

Panamá la Vieja is an archaeological site in Panama City that was the first city founded by the Spanish on the Isthmus of Panama in 1519. In 1671, the city was destroyed by the pirate Henry Morgan. In 1997, it was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In Old Panama, you can find ruins, walls, towers, churches, convents, houses, streets, plazas, museums, and a visitor center.
